Boiler-level electrical component — should be installed by a technician comfortable working around a pressurized hot water system.

PRO TIPS

  • Use thermal paste, not glue, on the sensing head before bolting or clamping the thermostat down — it fills microscopic surface imperfections between the switch and the boiler surface so heat transfers accurately, which matters because a poorly-seated sensor reads boiler temperature wrong and can cause nuisance trips or a boiler that runs hotter than it should. This synthetic paste is chosen for long-term stability — it won’t harden, dry out, or melt with normal use, and it’s especially useful on pipe-mount applications.
